Position Title : Director, Material Planning & Logistics - 9E

Position Summary

The Director of Material Planning and Logistics will build and develop a Material Planning & Logistics organization and suite of optimization capabilities working cross functionally with all stakeholders to drive significant improvement in material and cost, quality, reliability and responsiveness and a reduction in project execution cost in a manner consistent with Crown Castle values.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead Material Planning & Logistic resources
  • Develop, coach and mentor team members
  • Establish quantitative performance management routines with team members Performance metrics include: Transportation and warehousing cost performance to targetInventory $ / turnsMaterial on time deliveryWarehouse fill rateMaterial availability at site / GC Engage and educate Crown Castle key stakeholders about the material planning & logistics processDevelop and analyze Crown Castle construction and service delivery material operating practices to initiate most impactful performance improvement initiativesSupport development and maintenance material flow plans (PFEP) with team and Area SC ManagersOversee all warehouse operations ensuring implementation of industry best practicesEstablish initiative charters and lead initiatives through a tollgate process to ensure timelines and targets are metEstablish effective organizational engagement routines and communications to ensure intake of the best ideas and most effective implementation strategies.Develop methods to track and analyze and drive improvement in cost, quality, delivery, reliability and responsiveness key performance indicators (KPIs)Establish business continuity and supplier risk management protocols and plansMeet annual budget and cost savings targetsBuild and maintain strong, collaborative relationships both within and outside of the Supply Chain Team to drive accomplishment of overall Supply Chain goals and objectivesAssist with the implementation and training of systems, tools, processes, and procedures for the lines of business to ensure effective deployment.
  • Education/Certifications

  • Bachelors Degree (Masters Degree Preferred)
  • Experience/Minimum Requirements

  • Ten (10) years of leading transportation, distribution, warehousing organizations
  • Demonstrated leadership in transformational projects, leading at least 1 major project implementation
