Job Description
As a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator you are responsible for the operation of the Shipping, Receiving and Inventory Control functions of the Newton, Iowa facility to ensure workload is completed safely in an accurate timely manner within goals and guidelines.
+ Work with a \"Safety First\" mindset
+ Operate equipment, Receive, Ship and perform Inventory Cycle Counts
+ Schedule trucks through GPI systems such as SAP and TMS
+ Verify and keep accurate records on incoming and outgoing shipments
+ Work closely with Customer Service, Production, Scheduling, and Materials Management Analyst.
Manage Warehouse:
+ Ensure Warehouse is:
o Clean
o Organized
o Inventories are accurate
o Material Handling and all Dock equipment is functioning properly as intended.
Receiving:
+ Inspect, receive, and help to coordinate the receiving of product and raw materials
+ Accurately enter locations into system and assure the accuracy of inventory in locations
+ Receives corrugated boxes, board sheets, rolls, and pallets into the computer system so Inventory is accurate
+ Conduct Cycle Counts on a scheduled weekly basis
+ Investigate and reconcile Inventory discrepancies
Shipping:
+ Monitors scheduled releases to coordinate and schedule trucks to meet customer delivery needs.
+ Create pick lists, pull orders, stage product, inspect pallets in staging area to ensure material for shipment is the correct order/quantity and label product
+ Inspect trucks prior to loading, loads trucks
+ Generate shipping documentation to include Bills of Lading, Packing Lists, Certificates of Conformance, and Certificates of Analysis according to Customer Requirements.
+ Verify freight bills to ensure weights and rates are correct.
+ Issue a seal for all complete truckloads of food grade cartons.
+ Provide accounting with necessary information to invoice in a timely manner.
+ Investigate discrepancies with the carriers (freight line offices)
+ Audit freight bills forwarded by A/P that don't agree with freight expense shown as the expected cost. Make corrections as required. Approve for payment and take appropriate action to prevent recurrence.
Inventory Control:
+ Develop empty bin and double location reports for use in cycling counts of the warehouse.
+ Conduct cycle counts each month for all inventory types.
+ Work with Accounting and Production Supervisors to resolve all differences between production reporting quantities and actual quantities moved to Finished Goods.
+ Maintain inventory control records for Warehouse and ensure the accuracy, and completeness, of all inventory items and Finished Goods.
+ At month end/year end work to clear any unresolved issues.
Required Skills
+ Associate's degree or three years of Warehouse/Transportation experience
+ Transportation, Marketing or Logistics Degree preferred.
+ A thorough knowledge of both receiving/shipping/ inventory systems both computerized and manual
+ The ability to function in a manual mode if computer is not available
+ Knowledge of SAP computer system helpful
+ Must have excellent communication skills and abilities
+ Must be experienced with Microsoft Office programs to include a high proficiency with Excel and Word
