The Material Handler maintains an efficient flow on the packaging line; supplies line to achieve expected rate while maintaining quality product; reports any problems to the Group Lead/Shift Supervisor; works with all employees to ensure that cGMPs, and SOPs, policies and work instructions are being followed. On a daily basis executes receiving, storing, using, staging and distribution of materials required for assembly of product. May work on different production lines as production needs require.
This is a 2nd shift position which runs from 3pm - 11:30pm.
* Perform physical movement of materials from one area to another using handcarts or fork lifts. * Physically and systemically receive/issue individual material requisitions from internal and external departments Quantifies and verifies cycle count. * Process material against purchase orders and work orders using electronic material management system. * Coordinate with on-site and/or off-site warehousing facilities for parts replenishment and material for storage. * Work with appropriate logistics and production personnel to resolve/prevent part shortages. * Perform cycle audits and physical inventory per schedule. * Help reconcile inventory discrepancies and report discrepancies to Supervisor. * May assist in training of new hires. * Comply with EHS & Quality System regulations and policies. * Read and follow work instructions and bills of materials. * Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
* Demonstrate ability to read, write and speak in English. * Proficient in basic mathematics. * Ability to communicate well and work with others. * Basic computer skills. * Ability to consistently move items. * Ability to utilize automated lifting equipment. * Knowledge of computerized material flow methods. * Basic knowledge of quality and inventory control. * Must be able to work overtime as needed. * Knowledge of SAP a plus. * Computer familiarity preferred. * Basic comprehension of the English language: reading and writing skills to understand and complete necessary paperwork. * Consistent, legible penmanship. * Regularly required to remain in an upright position at least 8 hours, walk, bend, and use both hands for repetitive pushing, pulling, reaching and grasping. * While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. May work at different production lines as production needs require, or shift from one production line to another, during the packaging process. * Ability to move items up to 35 lbs. for short periods of time. * Maybe required to wear personal protective equipment including a PAPR * Maybe required to move about the packaging area
High school Diploma or equivalent
* Two (2) or more years of experience in storing and material handling * Prior experience using a forklift and weight scales * Experience working in a Materials or Production role
