Job Description

Role Overview:

Luxury retailer, Paul Stuart is looking for a temporary Receiving Associate to join their dynamic team of professionals at our Madison Ave. store location in New York. The assignment will last from September 2019 until end of December 2019. This person will be responsible for the verification, documentation and overall processing of all in and outgoing shipments to the store. This role will support the needs of the business by focusing on the provision of excellent customer service and collaboration with team members across departments. The Receiving Associate role will be responsible for performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards:

  • Accept, unpack, examine all incoming shipments to the Store
  • Inspect merchandise to ensure all contents included in the invoice are reflected in the shipping package
  • Collaborate internally across the Sales teams to safeguard accuracy of shipments when necessary
  • Identify and report on any damaged merchandise, shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify such damages and shortages
  • Reports any defective merchandise or questionable conditions to the Store Manager
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Uses inventory control software to run reports, print tickets and account for all Merchandise
  • Answer any inquiries regarding available items in stock
  • Responsible for documenting any/all customer returns and respectively communicate with Selling team
  • Assess and account for all in and out going transfers for safety and accuracy standards to each of our respective store locations
  • Assist Managers and associates in preventing theft by maintaining accurate inventory
  • Transport deliveries/paperwork to other internal departments, as needed
  • Understand and Exhibit proper safety protocol, particularly when lifting/moving heavy objects
  • Supports the accurate and timely shipment of merchandise, in an effort to contribute to the creation of an excellent sale process/experience for our patrons
  • Responsible for making arrangements for merchandise pick up by the appropriate mailing carrier, and conveying any unique shipping instructions
  • Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods
  • Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety protocols
  • Performs other related assignment as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to lift over 50 Ibs.
  • Be on your feet for long periods at a time
  • Accuracy driven with strong attention to detail
  • Communicate clearly and effectively
  • Demonstrates ability to read and interpret invoices and packing slips
  • Familiarity with working in a retail environment is a plus!
